I travelled without leaving my home

There is no doubt about it, what you feed your mind and body reflects on how you see the world. Take watching movies, I love all kinds especially those that leave you with a smile or tear at the end. Well this weekend was no exception. On Friday I picked up Memoirs of a Geisha, Prize Winner of Defiance Ohio and Dreamer. ( all in dvd)
Memoirs was true to the book and it took you to where only a movie can take you in the comfort of your own home. I was awed by the beauty, the scenery and the beautiful adorned kimonos. Wouldn't mind one of those myself. I am glad it is part of my library now and I am sure it will be one I will view many times. There is so much vibrance to capture that I am sure I missed in between blotting my tears.

Next on my viewing list was Prize Winner with Julianne Moore about a true story of a mother who was very good at jingles and won many prizes, cash and food to support her family of 12.
The mom's name was Evelyn Ryan and this took place in the 50's and 60's. Each time the family seemed to be struggling, she would win again. Although her life was anything but challenging, she made the best of every moment and everyone of their children did well in their life. It left me with the feeling that I should have had more kids, but that thought only last the length of the film. I just loved this one.

I completed my tour with the Dreamer another true story with Kurt Russell and Dakota Channing. About a racing horse that beats all odds. It unfolded with no surprises, however Kris Kristofferson was worth every breath that I took throughout this film. He is still a moving performer.

As my travel ends from another weekend abroad and back, I am grateful for talent, film, dvd players, electricity ahhhhhhhhh and a soft chair and blanket to snuggle up with.

Cause we all do matter
MUMM
