Eve of a long Easter Weekend

This is our first long weekend of the spring, Easter is upon on us once again. Our home will be filled with excitement for the next few days and already I am looking forward to the peace and quiet that goodbyes will bring.

Ahhhhh don't get me wrong, I love family time, but by golly it is exhausting. I have a calendar of memories to create for them all and hopefully someday they will cherish those memories as much as I did with my grandparents when I was young.

We will be having a chocolate hunt, we will go to Easter Mass and we will sit around the table sharing our thoughts of the season.

When they enter our home this evening they will see the light in our eyes and heart and they will know that they are appreciated, loved and most of all treasured. I had a few moments to myself before chaos envelopes me, and thought I would pass on my Holiday Greetings to you all, go and create some Easter Memories for someone.

'Cause we all matter.

I travelled without leaving my home

There is no doubt about it, what you feed your mind and body reflects on how you see the world. Take watching movies, I love all kinds especially those that leave you with a smile or tear at the end. Well this weekend was no exception. On Friday I picked up Memoirs of a Geisha, Prize Winner of Defiance Ohio and Dreamer. ( all in dvd)
Memoirs was true to the book and it took you to where only a movie can take you in the comfort of your own home. I was awed by the beauty, the scenery and the beautiful adorned kimonos. Wouldn't mind one of those myself. I am glad it is part of my library now and I am sure it will be one I will view many times. There is so much vibrance to capture that I am sure I missed in between blotting my tears.

Next on my viewing list was Prize Winner with Julianne Moore about a true story of a mother who was very good at jingles and won many prizes, cash and food to support her family of 12.
The mom's name was Evelyn Ryan and this took place in the 50's and 60's. Each time the family seemed to be struggling, she would win again. Although her life was anything but challenging, she made the best of every moment and everyone of their children did well in their life. It left me with the feeling that I should have had more kids, but that thought only last the length of the film. I just loved this one.

I completed my tour with the Dreamer another true story with Kurt Russell and Dakota Channing. About a racing horse that beats all odds. It unfolded with no surprises, however Kris Kristofferson was worth every breath that I took throughout this film. He is still a moving performer.

As my travel ends from another weekend abroad and back, I am grateful for talent, film, dvd players, electricity ahhhhhhhhh and a soft chair and blanket to snuggle up with.

Cause we all do matter

Teleflower Happy Face Spring Bouquet

Pretty isn't it? After quite a week, I sent one to a co-worker as appreciation of always being quick to spring into action when new projects are placed on our ever growing to do list. She certainly came through with bright colours.

In my effort to lift someone else's spirit, my kindness was paid in one being sent to me. Talk about paying it forward.
I mention this as this as happened often, since I met my so called boss, Lady Samm. I watch her and she is one to do things for the sake of doing not for what will transpire in doing so. She taught me long ago,
" stop expecting and you will never be disappointed."

She said that is why so many stop giving, because they expect something in return. The act of true giving is never expecting anything in return. Let the act come back to you. She was so right you know. Ever since I gave up that thought, wonderful things keep occurring. Now I have a new mug once my bouquet withers and I can enjoy a happy face every time I pour my coffee. So will my co-worker no doubt as we are both hooked on Green Mountain coffee.

My day is unfolding and I am grateful for yet another day of sharing and giving of me.
Are you giving something of yourself?

Night all, cause we all matter don't we?

Well as you can see here I am ready for the showers of April. And yes it is indeed the eve of April and here in Toronto Canada it is pouring. Of course it is.

About this time every year I think about what I can do to create a better life to those who happen to be in my circle of influence. Perhaps it has something to do with new beginnings; spring and all, but I like to plant some warm thought to those who happen to be at the receiving end.

We can all complain of the injustices of the world, but how many of us are actually doing something to clean it up? Talk, only messes things up, actions, well that is something we can do together. Since we are in spring, let's do some planting. YOU will be so surprised at what will transpire by the fall.

One of the first things I do in the spring is gather up all of my magazines and reading materials that kept me amused all winter and I take these to a couple senior buildings. They are always so excited as their limited incomes do not allow them these little luxuries. I am always surprised at how many thank you notes come from this one little act of kindness. Next on my list is I gather up clothes that I know I am not going to wear, more like not fit into next year and gather these for some shelters. What good are they doing me anyway? We all have heard what is one person's junk is another's treasure. Well in this case, magazines and clothes hardly fall into the junk area, but boy are they considered treasures to those at the receiving end.

See where I am going here? Plant some seeds and the reward is what blossoms from such an act. What are you doing in your corner of the world that will have brighten someone else's life?
What seeds will you be planting this spring?

'Cause we all matter

Good Morning to Mumm's Morning Blog. That is me there on the left. I love mornings as I am knee high in words each day. Once I pour my cup of java, my favourite is Sumantra Reserve from Green Mountain Coffee, I begin perking for the day. I observe a lot and this blog allows me to pour that out to you. So come on back and see what observation I made that day that will begin your day on a high note. The least is I will give you something to think about.

'Cause you matter too.
